Professional ozone treatment uses industrial-grade generators that produce far higher concentrations than consumer machines, and requires the property to be fully vacated during treatment. Professional ozone treatment in the UK typically costs between £495 and £1,500+ (ex. VAT) for residential properties, depending on the property size, the severity of the odour and whether additional treatment stages are required.

- Essential (ozone only) — from £495 + VAT: Pure ozone shock treatment for properties where surfaces have already been thoroughly cleaned. Best for residual odour after professional cleaning.
- Advanced (fogging + ozone) — from £695 + VAT: ULV cold fogging with specialist neutralising agent followed by monitored ozone treatment and ionisation. Our most popular package.
- Complete (wash + fogging + ozone) — from £1,350 + VAT: Full manual surface treatment, fogging and ozone. For severe or deeply embedded contamination.

What Affects the Cost of Ozone Treatment?
- Property size: The larger the space, the more generators required and the longer the treatment. A 4-bed house requires significantly more than a studio flat.
- Odour severity: Light residual odour in a recently cleaned property may respond to ozone alone. Heavily embedded smoke or pet odour from years of contamination typically needs fogging and surface treatment first.
- Odour type: Some odours (mould, pet urine, rodent) require specialist biocide or enzyme agents before ozone treatment can be fully effective.
- Scheduling: Out-of-hours treatment for commercial premises may attract a scheduling premium.
Important: Ozone treatment on its own is most effective for light to moderate odour where surfaces are already clean. For established smoking smells, heavy pet odour or mould, ozone alone is rarely sufficient — it works best as the final stage of a multi-step process. Ozone Machine Hire vs Professional Treatment
Consumer ozone generators can be hired or bought online for £50–£200. Professional treatment costs considerably more — so is there a case for DIY?
- Output: Consumer machines produce ozone at a fraction of the concentration of professional equipment. For established odour, they rarely deliver lasting results.
- Safety: Ozone is harmful to humans, pets and plants at treatment concentrations. Professional operators monitor levels and confirm safe re-entry. DIY users have no way to verify safe dispersal.
- Monitoring: Without real-time concentration measurement, there is no way to know whether effective treatment levels were actually reached in all rooms.
- No preparation: Consumer machines do not include surface treatment or fogging, meaning odour compounds embedded in walls and fabrics are not addressed.
For light, recent odours — a single cooking session, a short-term musty smell — a consumer machine may provide some relief. For established odour of any kind, professional treatment consistently delivers better and more lasting results.
